Dobrev: The government and this finance minister are unlikely to remain until the end of next year – Bulgaria

My main concern is that the State Budget Law for 2024 will be introduced with highly inflated income portion. So that the three percent deficit can be met, and on the other hand they can spend on what they want. This was said at a press conference in Haskovo by GERB MP Delyan Dobrev.

“Their government and this finance minister will hardly stay until the end of next year to implement this budget in its entirety,” predicted Dobrev.

They stopped all infrastructure projects in order to raise pensions, explained the deputy.

Our assessment is that next year’s revenue is unlikely to materially exceed this year’s budget performance. Not the planned revenues, but the implementation of the budget. The implementation of the budget will probably be two billion less than what was planned, noted Dobrev.

He added that the revenue part for the next year, when the budget is submitted by the Ministry of Finance, should be based on such a realistic assessment of the revenue part.

Regarding the tax laws being prepared, he pointed out that there will likely be “reckless things” again.
