The pedagogical team of the Professional High School of Industrial Technologies “Atanas Tsonev Burov” was awarded the sign of the regional governor Danail Kovachev. The distinction is awarded for overall contribution to professional education in the region, the building of excellently prepared specialists and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the school. “Celebrating such a dignified anniversary is an exciting moment, because above all it is a celebration of many generations, connected with the fate of hundreds of families. This is a whole century, during which the school, carrying within itself the spirit and faith of the Bulgarian financier, philanthropist, diplomat and politician, has responded to the challenges of the time and provided quality training to its students, formed knowledge in all of them, provided is opportunities for their creative performances and has turned them into responsible people”, said Kovachev in his address to the director Eng. Vencislav Vasilev and the teachers. “Congratulations on establishing the school as a desirable and respected institution in the district. Thanks to former and current teachers, quality education is provided here, meeting the highest European standards in the field of modern industrial technologies. I believe that this is an area on which more and more modern industries will depend and which will continue to establish itself as a leader in the world we live in,” added Kovachev and thanked the teachers for their tireless work. He wished the students to be ambitious and responsible, as well as to have the self-confidence of knowledgeable and capable people.
At the moment, 175 students between the 8th and 12th grades are studying in the school. They study in 13 classes, 5 of which provide the opportunity for dual education. The school partners with more than 25 companies from Ruse and the region. During the 100-year history of the high school, 13,476 students received secondary education diplomas, and 12,684 students received a certificate of professional qualification, as a separate document from the diploma. Work is also underway on a number of European projects, and from 2018 until now, the computer room and all classrooms in the high school have been gradually renovated with computers, printers and multimedia, meeting the modern requirements in the educational process. Graduates of the school regularly participate in a number of national and international competitions. In 2023, the students of the Vocational High School of Industrial Technologies in Ruse won first place in the “Best Young Installer” competition, having performed the most precisely of all the participants in making a collector with connection connections to a gas boiler. Earlier in the day, the renovated school dormitory at the Vocational High School was also opened. In addition to students at the school, it is also used by over 160 students in other educational institutions. It was renovated according to a program of the Ministry of Education and Science, with over 900,000 BGN allocated by the department, and the school participated with 135,000 BGN of its own funds. The school prepares excellent specialists in the field of mechatronics, thermal engineering, industrial aesthetics and design, measuring and organizational technology, machines and equipment with digital program control, as well as welding machines and equipment.
Among the guests of the event, which took place this evening in the Revenue Building in Ruse, were the acting mayor of Ruse Municipality Dimitar Nedev, the deputy mayor for humanitarian activities Encho Enchev, the vice-rector for development, coordination and continuing education of Ruse University prof. Dr. Plamen Daskalov, the head of the Regional Department of Education, Dr. Rositsa Georgieva, representatives of business, including “Overgaz”, the non-governmental sector and trade unions. The celebration was also attended by the chairman of the Ruse Chamber of Commerce, Prof. Krasimir Enimanev, as well as the executive director of the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Milen Dobrev.
The management and team of the Vocational High School of Industrial Technologies was also awarded with a plaque from the Municipality of Ruse.
The school’s 100th anniversary concert featured both alumni of the high school and bands from the region.
