The Boehringer Ingelheim Bulgaria team dedicated this year’s VTI (Value Through Innovation) day to serving the community and improving the environment, choosing to focus its efforts in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. In Sofia, the team of volunteers took care of the “Nadezhda” Social Home, where they improved the courtyard environment with new plantings of roses and refreshing the benches, creating a more favorable environment for the youth in need of the home’s services.
In Varna, the volunteers visited “Karin Dom”. Together with the management and parents of the children from the home, the team chose to support social entrepreneurship by making warm scarves for the upcoming winter period. In Plovdiv, the company’s employees got involved in the improvement of the environment in the “Lauta” park. With the support of the municipality, about 20 trees were planted – an initiative aimed at making the park more pleasant for walks and rest for the local community.
As part of the initiative, the employees chose to improve the environment in the Vitosha Nature Park, the “Quiet Corner” area, where they took care of a more beautiful and welcoming area for walking and recreation. Some of the activities included painting and renovating the wooden structures in the recreation area, cleaning the ditches along the eco-trail and building a wooden bridge.
VTI Day (Value Through Innovation) is one of the most important moments in Boehringer Ingelheim’s cultural calendar, where employees have the opportunity to celebrate the company’s achievements and realize that every action has an impact on future generations. This year the initiative takes place under the motto “Capture the present moment” and focuses on the opportunities that present day offers. Employees unite around the idea of acting in the moment and being bold to contribute to a better future and health for people around the world.
This initiative is part of Boehringer Ingelheim’s long-standing tradition of caring for the community, including participation in various charitable activities. The pharmaceutical company is dedicated not only to the creation of innovative medicines, but is also deeply committed to improving the quality of life of people and communities around the world. Through volunteering initiatives, the company aims to motivate employees to actively participate as a full part of the community and is confident that working together is key to achieving change. Voluntary initiatives are only one of the ways in which a better quality of life can be achieved for all.
