“An awful lot of people stop me, a lot of people want to share about the problems they’ve had in the last 16 years. It was the same during the campaign. We reached out to all the residents of Pazardzhik and said that our doors will be wide open for them,” said Pazardzhik Mayor Petar Kulenski on bTV.
According to him, the previous leadership of the municipality invited directors of
directorates to leave en masse to block his work.
“It’s important to me that we start solving the cases from day one, because they are
terribly sore and urgent for Pazardzhik. And right now I have to constantly put out fires related to the dire financial situation of the municipality. Many creditors contact us and say that they are owed money,” said the new mayor of Pazardzhik. He gave a request to fight against corrupt practices that have refused investors to come to the city.
It has always been incomprehensible to me why foreign investors pass by Pazardzhik, even though it is only 30 km away. from Plovdiv, and docked in the city under the hills. Pazardzhik has all the features to be an attractive center for investors, so that we create more and better-paid jobs that keep young people in Pazardzhik, said Kulenski.
I have already had a conversation with the regional minister Andrei Tsekov on the important infrastructure projects for Pazardzhik, next week there is also a meeting with the minister of finance Asen Vasilev, we will need help from the state and financial discipline. We clearly and categorically stated in our campaign that we will not increase local taxes and fees, we must increase the collection and stop the uncontrolled spending of a public resource, said Kulenski.
