The district prosecutor’s office in Veliko Tarnovo is leading the pre-trial proceedings for the serious accident yesterday evening, in which football specialist Ferrario Spasov died near the village of Sheremetya. No one has yet been charged in the serious incident.
The collision was between the car in which the 61-year-old Ferrari Spasov was traveling and a white sports Mercedes driven by a 24-year-old driver with 16 months of experience, police sources said. Both cars were traveling in the direction of Sofia and the accident happened on a wet section of the main road Sofia – Varna near the village of Sheremetya around 5 pm yesterday. According to the testimony of eyewitnesses, the white car was moving at a very high speed and undertook a risky overtaking on a prohibited section.
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Veliko Tarnovo does not issue a statement to the media, the press release states that the young driver and his female companion were slightly injured. The alcohol test was negative, it is not indicated if there is a drug test. The reasons and circumstances of the accident will be clarified in the course of the investigation, and when sufficient evidence of culpable behavior is collected, the person responsible will be brought to justice, according to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Veliko Tarnovo.
The renowned football coach Ferrario Spasov was on his way home to Lovech from a football match in upper Oryahovitsa, where he played “Dunav” – Lom.
