Dunav (Lom) coach Ferrario Spasov died in a car accident near Veliko Tarnovo. The accident happened around 17:00 on the road between Sofia and Varna, where two cars collided. A white sports car rammed at high speed from behind the car driven by Ferrario Spasov, and he died on the spot.
Spasov was returning from a match of his team in the Third League against Lokomotiv (Gorna Oryahovitsa), in which Dunav (Lom) lost 1:3. He was traveling in his private car in the direction of Lovech, when he was hit by a car that was traveling at 150 km/h and entered the oncoming lane near the Tarnovo village of Sheremetya.

As a football player, Ferrario Spasov played for Osam (Lovech) and Spartak (Pleven). As a coach, he ranked Litex in the “A” group in the 1996/97 season, and in 1999, he led Lovchanlii to the title. He also won the Bulgarian Cup with the “Oranges” in 2001.
In his coaching career, Spasov led Olympic (Galata), Litex, Spartak (Varna), CSKA, Danube (Ruse), Botev (Plovdiv), Montana, Eter, Spartak (Pleven), Beroe, Levski (Lom) and Sevlievo. He was also in charge of the junior national team up to 17 years of age.
