The new mayor of Plovdiv, Kostadin Dimitrov, said that a final decision will be made on Monday morning whether Bulgaria – Hungary will be played at the Hristo Botev stadium.
“On Friday, we received a letter from the executor, which showed that the stadium was dangerous. Based on these two facts, and the fact that the BFS was late in submitting their application, we made this decision,” Dimitrov commented to BNT.
“On Saturdays and Sundays, the administration does not work and we cannot change the decision we made. We have received no official data and nothing requires us to change this opinion,” he added.
“We operate on the basis of documentation and facts, not on the basis of coercion.”
“I hope we have the necessary evidence and facts. Tomorrow morning we will get to know the facts again, I will assemble the team that works on Friday and I hope we will make the best decision for the city and the country,” Dimitrov said.
