Interest clubs at the “Mihalaki Georgiev” Vocational High School for Tourism in Vidin enjoy great interest from students.
The Culinary Club participated in the bazaar of delicious delights on the occasion of Vidin’s holiday – Dimitrovden, with confectionary products that were appreciated by Vidin residents, says Rozalina Ilieva, teacher of entrepreneurship and economic disciplines:
“Clubs by interest are: ‘Entrepreneurship’, ‘My Kitchen’, ‘Catering’, ‘Young Pastry Chef’ and all integrated prepared culinary delights to present their professional skills. They understand that their profession matters… In each club there are 15 -20 students… We also have Art sweets that had to be arranged. One thing is leading – their interest in cooking.”
Ninth graders Ivan and Kristiyan joined in making the desserts, cakes and creams:
“I made the cream for cupcakes… Starch, water, eggs are beaten, then added to milk and vanilla, this is how the cream is made… I made a cake with three chocolates – black, milk and white, with four marshmallows… Without flour, the marshmallow is made, it is in the form of jelly.”
Ninth grader Nikola participates in the “Young Entrepreneur” club. In addition to culinary skills, he also acquires skills on how to present products to buyers:
“We learn how to make creams and sweets… We learn how to culturally offer our goods, to be radiant when selling.”/Radio Vidin
