I.F. chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov met today, 16.11.2023, with the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Sofia H.E. Alejandro Polanco, the prosecutor’s office said.
Within the framework of the meeting, the support declared by Spain for Bulgaria’s accession to Schengen was discussed, which is also one of the priorities of the current Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union, and the significance of this accession for strengthening European unity was highlighted.
Among the topics discussed were the upcoming reforms in the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria, related to the judiciary, as well as the fight against cross-border organized crime, corruption and terrorism.
In the course of the conversation between the Bulgarian Prosecutor General and the Spanish Ambassador, the traditionally good relations and excellent cooperation between the law enforcement and law enforcement agencies of the two countries were highlighted.
