The association “Be good, do good” organizes charity events in the Vratsa region in connection with the approaching Christmas holidays. Food packages for elderly people living alone and gifts for children from socially weak families, with one parent, from various social services or with disabilities – these are the two main initiatives that are currently being actively worked on, explained Maya Metodieva from the organization:
“This year, we have again targeted the group of elderly people living alone, people with disabilities, socially weak families in the Vratsa region… We have two initiatives that have been launched. In the Christmas food package, we try to include everything long-lasting.
We don’t have a warehouse this year, so we’ve negotiated certain prices with several grocery stores and anyone can buy it and then we go and pick it up… We’re trying to get over 500 packages right now. We work with mayors of villages, in some places with our volunteers.
We cover children of different ages, from kindergarten to primary education.”
Christmas packages can be purchased at the COOP store – Vratsa every weekday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays – from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the store at the address: Vratsa, OKS, street ” Dragan Tsankov”, number 6.
The Christmas package is worth BGN 30. A receipt will be issued for each donated amount. After purchasing the food package, do not forget to take a picture and send a photo, the association states.
The organization will be at the store every Saturday to accept donations during the week.
Gifts for children can include the following toys:
For boys: pushchairs, board games, puzzles, guns, constructors, headphones;
For girls: dolls, board games, puzzles, bracelet making kits, headphones, for older children cosmetic kits.
