If they don’t trust this “pro-Russian and pro-Putin cabinet”, let them come and overthrow it. Otherwise, thanks to DPS and GERB, Bulgaria will continue to have this cabinet for a few more weeks, at least until the next vote, urged Georgi Svilenski from BSP
GERB and DPS demonstratively left the plenary hall seconds before the chairman of the meeting, Rosen Zhelyazkov, announced a vote of no confidence.
However, without their participation, the second attempt to overthrow the government with Prime Minister Akadian Nikolay Denkov was not successful. BSP, ITN and “Vazrazhdane” joined forces in a vote of no confidence on the topic of national security, but failed to “break” the majority despite the sharp skirmishes between GERB and DPS on one side and PP-DB on the other.
66 voted “for” the vote, 61 were “against” and so the vote survived. However, in order for the government to fall, more deputies are needed – to make 121.
Minutes before the vote, the DPS demanded the resignation of two ministers. They and GERB accuse PP-DB of forming a new pro-Putin coalition with BSP, ITN and Vazrazhdane.
Georgi Svilenski from the BSP asked for a re-voting and a break. And asked GERB and DPS to return. “If they don’t support the government, if they want to differentiate themselves – vote, don’t leave the hall! If they really don’t support the cabinet, order them to the hall, otherwise the hypocrisy is clear in front of all the cameras and Bulgarian citizens,” insisted the socialist.
“If they don’t trust this “pro-Russian and pro-Putin cabinet”, let them come and overthrow it. Otherwise, thanks to DPS and GERB, Bulgaria will continue to have this cabinet for a few more weeks, at least until the next vote,” said Georgi Svilenski.
Deputies are in a 15-minute break before the re-voting.
