In Burgas, they will present the pre-premiere film “The Master of Sound”, dedicated to Burgasian Prof. Ivo Keremedchiev. The production will be broadcast on November 17, at 18:00, in the “Georgi Baev” hall, announced the press center of the Municipality.
The tape is inspired by the life and work of Prof. Ivo Keremidchiev. In 2000, on his initiative, together with Yulia Nenova, the “Sound Directing” specialty was opened at the National School of Music and Performing Arts (NUMSI) “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Burgas.
Many of the shots in the film were shot in Keremedchiev’s hometown. In the tape, famous musical figures in Bulgaria – composers, teachers and musicians – talk about him.
Prof. Keremidchiev was born on May 11, 1954 in Burgas. He graduated from the violin major at NUMSI “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”. One of his first appearances was in front of a Burgas audience. He continued to study “Violin” at the Instrumental Faculty of the State Academy of Music and graduated in 1977. Between 1979 and 1983 he pursued a second higher education in the “Sound Direction” specialty at the Theoretical Faculty. He specialized in sound direction at the Academy of Music in Detmold, Germany. Keremidchiev works as an assistant concertmaster in the Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra in Bankya. Together with the orchestra, he performed numerous concerts, both in front of Bulgarian audiences and abroad – in Germany, Italy, Cuba and others.
In 1978-79, the maestro was a member of the symphony orchestra of the city of Cagliari, Italy. For 35 years he worked at the National Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov”, Sofia. After his second graduation in 1983, he worked as a sound engineer and part-time assistant in sound engineering at the Conservatory. He was an honorary teacher from 1987 to 1989. In 1997 he became an associate professor. Since 2005, he has been the deputy dean of the Faculty of Theory, Composition and Conducting of the Academy. In 2016, he received the “Crystal Lyre” award for creativity and innovation. Professor Ivo Keremidchiev has released in Bulgaria and abroad more than 60 CDs with classical and folk music.
Prof. Ivo Keremidchiev leaves this world in 2018.
