Dozens of football supporters from various fan clubs gathered for a peaceful protest in front of the building that houses the Regional Council of the Bulgarian Football Union /BFS/ in Vidin. The action is titled “United protest! 18 years are coming!”.
“The reason to gather and express our dissatisfaction is the management of the BFS, in particular the management in Vidin. Why don’t people resign by not doing their jobs…We stand in solidarity with all the fans who are protesting in all the cities of the country. We are a small town, but our voice must be heard. We cannot tolerate it anymore, that’s why we have come out all the fans from all over the country to take down this criminal organization, whether Berbatov, whether Lacho Tanev, or any other professional who understands , to build stadiums with the help of the state, to have a place for our children to play…”
The protest in Vidin is in support of the national protest in the capital, which began at the same time in front of the Vasil Levski national stadium. There, at 19:00, the qualification for the European Championship will be played between the national teams of Bulgaria and Hungary, but in front of empty stands. The protesting football supporters demand the immediate resignation of Borislav Mihailov and the management of the BFS. Convening and conducting an urgent new Congress of the BFS and electing a new leadership.
