
A business forum on “Innovations and technologies for a sustainable future” was held in Stara Zagora. The event is organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria, in cooperation with the Dutch-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce. The beginning was given with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Stara Zagora Radostin Tanev and the Dutch-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, in the person of Yolanda van der Burgh.
“Welcome to the greenest city in Bulgaria! The city that has not only a beautiful history, but also a very well-functioning economy. We have had quite a few examples in recent years and today I also see here companies with whom we had the opportunity to work and I am glad that you chose our city as a place in which you will develop. Stara Zagora Municipality is always ready to help and we will do everything possible to be competitive and attractive for business. The business that brings added value to our city, to the development of young people and to the development of knowledge”, Radostin Tanev addressed the participants.
A welcome at the beginning of the forum was also given by H.E. Simon van der Burg, who stated that he looks forward to a fruitful collaboration, a collaboration that will lead to a business full of content, as well as innovative and fruitful solutions.
The forum continued with two panels, with the Dutch participation Bart Lamott, senior innovation consultant, Luminis Nederland, Jeroen van Hertum, NL High-tech cluster in Bulgaria, Petar Bozadzhiev, Strypes (ICT group, Hans Hof, executive director of BullCharge and Yolanda van der Broek, Dutch-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce.
Invited to the Bulgarian panel for discussion were Rositsa Raykova, Head of the Investments Department in Stara Zagora Municipality, Radoslav Tanev, Executive Director of Industrial Zone “Zagore” and Dr. Rumyana Grozeva, Executive Director of ARIR. There was also a representative of the university under the linden trees in the person of the vice-rector, Assoc. Dr. Emil Slavov.
