If a decision is made to grant Christmas supplements to pensioners, it is best to do this by the end of next weeksaid the head of the “Pensions” Directorate at the National Social Security Institute, Lyubomira Yazadzhieva.
So seniors will be able to receive their supplements along with their December pensions:
“We are finishing the monthly processing of the December pensions at the end of next week. In order for them to be paid on the 7th with the pensions being paid, it is necessary to make such a decision as quickly as possible.”
The lowest pension becomes BGN 307
According to the expert, if a decision is not made by the end of next week, this would make it difficult for pensioners who receive their pensions by post “because they would have to go again” to the counters. This will also make it difficult for the National Insurance Institute (NII), where experts will have to process the December base twice data, Yazadzhieva further explained.
Last year, all pensioners received BGN 70 Christmas supplementsfor which over 142 million BGN were allocated.
Lyubomira Yazadzhieva participated in a discussion organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, dedicated to the pension and insurance system in the country.
The forum is also attended by representatives of the executive power, business and trade unions, the Financial Supervision Commission, the Bulgarian Association of Supplementary Pension Insurance Companies.
