Under the motto “Let’s be tolerant – today, tomorrow, always!”, the students of “Dimitar Matevski” Secondary School, Plovdiv, welcomed November 16 – the Day of Tolerance.

From the morning in the lobby of the school, the students were greeted by a tree of tolerance and a box of challenges that encouraged to do something good, because there is nothing more beautiful than striving to be a good person always, everywhere and in everything.

All students from 1st to 4th grade came up with a wonderful initiative by making shamrocks with 10 golden rules for tolerance. The youngest, the first graders, distributed their clovers to the fifth graders with their appeal for tolerance. The second and third grades distributed their clovers to the rest of the school, and the fourth graders distributed their clovers to the entire school staff.

Under the title “Let’s be tolerant”, the teachers put up a board on which the students had to write their messages about the good and tolerant attitude towards everyone. Of course first of all they showed that patience is the most important quality that should be present in our life and patience is the basis of everything. A kind word, respect, humanity, compassion, sympathy were some of the qualities that teachers and students made an appeal to everyone.

Throughout the day, students kept dropping their good deeds into a specially made “Goodness Box”.

It feels really great to see and pass on our inspiring examples! We hope that we will continue to join forces and in the same spirit of love, hope and empathy, we will continue to give love and support together, because Goodness begins with us!
