The German company SAP, which recently opened a new development center in Sofia, developing artificial intelligence – SAP Labs, announced that they are recruiting 300 new Bulgarian employees. The company’s new base in Sofia is part of an investment of BGN 100 million and specializes in the development of innovations and artificial intelligence.
The building unites all the company’s activities and employees in one place. Recently, the Money.bg team met with part of the company’s management team. We learned from him that Sofia is consolidating its position as a strategic global technology location in the SAP network.
The new modern office space is located in the “Hladilnika” Industrial Zone. The building has 11 above-ground floors and 2 underground floors, and its built-up area is 34,800 sq. m. The development center SAP Labs Bulgaria and the company’s trading company – SAP Bulgaria, are now housed there in one place.

Investment for over 50 million BGN
The new Bulgarian SAP development center was visited by the Minister of Innovation and Growth, Milena Stoicheva, who met with part of the management of one of the largest German investors in our country.
“The cooperation of large companies with start-ups is extremely important for increasing the country’s competitiveness and for economic growth“, commented Stoycheva during the meeting.
The managing director of SAP Bulgaria, Zdravko Peshakov, for his part, emphasized that every year more than 70 people start an internship at the company, and among these internships, half of the employees have started work. More than 1,500 are currently employed, with plans to increase by up to 300 per year.
The development center in Sofia is the seventh largest of the 21 that the company has. The ambitious growth plans come with a global context, in which Sofia ranks next to 20 other similar technology centers in 17 countries around the world – from the USA and Canada, through Germany and France, to Japan and China.
The German company comments that among the main reasons for investing in Bulgaria are the Bulgarian IT specialists, who are at the world level.
