A regional forum on innovative and creative solutions for the work of teachers in preschool education began in Sliven. Experts from the Regional Directorates of Education, principals and teachers from kindergartens in Burgas, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Yambol and the host city are participating. Best practices for managing the educational environment, using strategies in teaching children and involving parents will be presented.
Mayor Stefan Radev was a guest at the event. He welcomed the participants and organizers from RUO – Sliven and pointed out that the topic of the meeting is important for every region and every municipality. “The municipality of Sliven is in a more special situation, as it is perhaps one of the few in the country that has to build new kindergartens,” he noted. The construction of a large, completely new kindergarten has already begun, and a second one is about to be built. Another new kindergarten was opened in the previous term. Among the tasks is the expansion of kindergartens in order to switch to a full-day form of education. “We will continue to work on all issues related to the material base. But, of course, the most important thing is the actual work with the children – what you, the teachers, organize and plan and what we get as results based on your energy and imagination,” said Radev. He added that the municipality of Sliven has a specific demographic picture, with a relatively large number of minority groups, with its own specific problems. “They need to be analyzed adequately so that we can give these children more chances for an equal start.” In this sense, all innovations that can be introduced in the education and upbringing of children are not only welcome, but I also hope that this process will develop at a faster pace,” the mayor emphasized.
The forum is being held with the special participation of Assoc. Dr. Emil Buzov from the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. Cyril and Methodius”, moderator of the discussions. Effective results in their work with children will be presented by two kindergartens from the municipality of Sliven – “Edelweiss” and “Elitsa”. The participants were greeted by the children of DG “Mak”. The emblem of the event was the drawing of Galena Dimitrova from DG “Childhood”, which in the year won first prize in a competition of the Bulgarian National Committee for Preschool Education.
The event takes place in implementation of the National Program of the Ministry of Education and Culture “It’s good in the kindergarten”.
