Zhelyo Stankov from GERB remains the mayor of the village of Studena in Svilengrad. This is clear from the decision of the Administrative Court – Haskovo, which confirmed the decision of the Municipal Election Commission in Svilengrad, which announced the results of the local government elections on October 29, Themida reported.
The court accepted that in this case there was no significant violation of the procedure for conducting the election, which had an impact on the final result reflected in the disputed act for the actual vote of the voters. In this regard, he found that the protocol of the relevant SEC did not establish that there were any disputes regarding the nature of the ballots, there were no reflected complaints received on the election day, no descriptions of submitted applications or objections, remarks, signatures with special opinions, such as the protocol of the OEC – Svilengrad, compiled on the basis of the data from the sectional protocol, is also without cross-outs, cross-outs, remarks, objections, special opinions. Therefore, according to the court, the applicant’s suspicion of irregularities or incorrect counting of valid and invalid ballots does not justify a manual recount.
In the grounds of the court decision, it is also indicated that in this particular case the total number of actual votes was 234, of which the candidate Zhelio Stankov received 128 actual votes, which is 10 votes more than the legally required minimum.
