Today, the mayor Pencho Milkov congratulated the famous Ruse artist and chairman of the local artists’ association Nikolay Kolev on the occasion of his 60th anniversary, the press center of the Ruse Municipality announced.
“Your work in the field of fine arts, with which you touch thousands of Ruseians and enrich the cultural life of our city, deserves admiration, as well as the efforts you make to unite the Ruse community of artists”. With these words, Pencho Milkov addressed the jubilee, noting the importance of his rich creative biography, as well as his work as the chairman of the SBH – Ruse. As a sign of appreciation for his great contribution to the promotion of the achievements of Ruse artists, the mayor awarded Nikolay Kolev with a badge of honor – a plaque of the Municipality of Ruse.
Nikolay Kolev was born in 1963 in Ruse. He received his secondary education at the Art High School in Kazanlak, after which he continued his studies at the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, where he graduated with a degree in “graphics” in the class of the famous Bulgarian artist Nikola Hadjitanev. In 1988, he began working as a teacher at the Hristo Smirnenski school in Ruse, and a year later he created a specialized fine art class at the Vazrazhdane school. He is the author of more than 50 exhibitions in Ruse and the country. His paintings are in private collections in Europe, USA, Australia and Latin America.
