The exhibition “Characters” by Veselin Simeonov will be opened this evening in the “Narrativa” gallery in Veliko Tarnovo. The gallery announces the event:

“In November, the abstract in Nartiva continues to excite our senses, but mixed with drawing and painting, as the colors, shapes, materials will be transformed by the colorful and bright imagination of our next guest artist. He is a familiar face that we have all seen more than once with camera in hand at exhibition openings.

Vesselin Simeonov, or VESKO, as he signs his works, is an artist with interests in the field of visual arts. His focus is primarily on the field of drawing and painting, and this is not limited to their conventional forms. Vesco does not stop experimenting in his works. The use of different types of visual materials, as well as the inclusion of various techniques in the process of their creation, reflect the interaction between the traditional and the avant-garde in visual art.

We must also add his skillful portraiture through photography. Thanks to the work behind the lens, the idea behind the exhibition is actually born, as Vesco shares.

“Characters” is an exhibition that reflects the impact of our many encounters with outstanding personalities. And each one as an individuality leaves an imprint on our own identity. The exhibition presents unique psychological portraits created by the author’s interaction not only with different people, but also with our surroundings.

The Vesco characters you will see have their own personality, but are not a reflection of anyone in particular. Are they different people, are they changing moods, or is it the same person in a process of development going through life? The answer is probably a little bit of all three, but it’s mostly up to you, the watchers. Because the identification of shapes with human features is purely associative. All that remains in our minds is a sensory imprint, a sense of presence.

The exhibition was created through mixed media by the artist, incorporating many materials that reached him through everyday life: from sand, through old nails and coals from the wood stove. And each one has its own little story before ending up on the canvas.

Come look for yourself or your current state in VESCO’s “Characters”. We are waiting for you on 17.11. from 18:00′.
