On November 20, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of the “Brotherhood 1869” Community Center, Kyustendil, a Festive Concert dedicated to the Day of the Christian Family and Orthodox Christian Youth will be held.
Organizers of the event are “Brotherhood 1869” Community Center and Sofia Holy Metropolis –
Episcopal vicarage – Kyustendil. The program will include the “Inseparable” Vocal Group, Folk Art Group and others.
November 21 – the day that the Church celebrates as an introduction to the Virgin Mary has also been declared the Day of the Christian Family and Christian Youth. On that day, little Mary was taken to church to serve, as had been promised before she was born. The importance of this dedication is to point out what the Christian family is and what it should be and what are the prerequisites and conditions for a healthy family, for a real Christian family life. The Christian family is a school for healthy family virtues – of pure love, conjugal fidelity, peace, diligence, chastity. Going to church as a family on this day reminds parents of their spiritual obligations to their children. Because the family is the best school that can give the first knowledge about God and Orthodoxy, about the Christian virtues on which the Bulgarian family has been based for centuries.
