The Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office prosecuted a 51-year-old man for driving after consuming alcohol, they reported.

On 17.11.2023, the accused Ivaylo Tsvetkov was driving a car, brand “BMW” along “Okolovrasten Pat” street in the city of Sofia, with a concentration of alcohol in his blood above 1.2 parts per thousand, namely 2.12 per thousand, established with the “Draeger 7510” test. The accused gave a blood sample, the results of which are awaited, reported the press center of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office.

In this case, pre-trial proceedings for a crime under Art. 343b, para. 1 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment from 1 to 3 years and a fine from 200 to 1000 BGN.

The accused has not been convicted and has cooperated with the investigation. The car that he was driving was included as material evidence in the case and a “seizure” measure was imposed on it in order to secure the provisions of Art. 343b, para. 1 of the Criminal Code penalty “fine”, as well as with a view to ensuring future confiscation in favor of the state.

Regarding the accused I.C. a “cash guarantee” measure of BGN 15,000 was imposed and his driver’s license was revoked.
