Significant amounts of rain and hurricane-force winds are expected in the Dobrich region in the coming days. According to data from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, a sharp and significant deterioration of the weather is expected from the night of Saturday (11/18/2023) to Sunday late afternoon (11/19/2023). The forecast for tomorrow is for a stormy wind with a speed of 20- 29 m/s (70-100 km/h) and/or gusts up to 32 m/s (115 km/h), local wind – blow dryer, bora. The expected amount of precipitation is 20-35 mm in 24 hours or intense precipitation – up to 30 mm in 6 hours. The excitement of the sea will increase to 4 points.

The General Directorate “Fire Safety and Protection of the Population” (Fire Safety and Protection of the Population) is taking preventive actions in connection with the expected dynamic weather forecast in the country. Instructions have been sent to the regional governors to take additional measures in connection with expected strong winds and rains, the press center of the GDPBZN announced.

Information about the meteorological situation in the country, according to which strong winds and rains are coming, has been received at the National Operational Center of the National Fire Protection Agency.

For November 18, Saturday, a “code orange” has been announced for a strong northwesterly wind with a speed of 10 – 15 m/second. The expectations are that in the Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Lovech, Silistra, Dobrich, Varna, Shumen, Burgas, Sliven, Sofia, Pernik, Targovishte gusts will reach 25-30 m/second.

Rainfall with quantities of 15-35 l/sq. m are expected in the regions of Dobrich, Varna and Burgas. According to the hydrological forecast of NIMH-MOES, in the next 48 hours, this may lead to an increase in river levels in the Danube, Black Sea, East White Sea and West White Sea basins.

The General Directorate “Fire Safety and Protection of the Population” recommends citizens to heed the warning and remove or strengthen objects on windows, balconies, etc., which can be knocked down and could cause unforeseen situations and accidents. Do not pass near large trees or unstable structures. Park your cars in safe places. In case of danger and/or flooding, call 112.

The “Crisis and OMP Management” department at the Shabla Municipal Administration appeals to the citizens and guests of the municipality to be careful and not to leave their homes, except for urgent reasons in order to prevent unwanted incidents.
