“We have different views with the chairman, Georgi Tityukov, on the development of the Cause Bulgaria party.” This is how Konstantin Georgiev, until recently the deputy chairman of the party, explained his departure.
Konstantin Georgiev explained that his proposal was to give way to younger people in the leadership, but this was not accepted by the chairman.
“I don’t see our election result as a success,” Georgiev said and pointed out that in the last local elections, the parties that are now in the “United for Plovdiv” coalition gathered a total of 31,000 votes, and now they have 11,000 votes. This, according to him, is a very serious red light for the leaders of these parties. At the same time, he added that due to the low voter turnout, the results were also bad for the other parties that participated in the vote.
Konstantin Georgiev does not consider the entry of “Causa Bulgaria” into “United for Plovdiv” a mistake. “We are the third political force in the Municipal Council after the mastodons GERB and PP-DB,” he said.
The former deputy chairman of “Causa Bulgaria” said that he had nothing to do with the nomination of Nikolay Bukhalov for deputy mayor in charge of sports, youth activities and social policy. Georgiev explained that the proposal for Bukhalov was made after he left the party.
