The prosecutor’s office in Plovdiv chased the owner of the two pit bulls that tore apart a domestic dog

Today, November 20, 2023, after receiving materials from the First RU at the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Plovdiv, the District Prosecutor’s Office – Plovdiv initiated pre-trial proceedings for the fact that on November 16, 2023, in the city of Plovdiv, cruelty to a vertebrate animal was shown – a Pomeranian breed dog with which his death was unlawfully caused – a crime under Article 325b, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

On November 16, 2023, in the city of Plovdiv, in the “Yuzhen” district, at around 10 p.m., an owner was walking his Pomeranian dog. The animal was attacked by two other pit bull dogs, which were also with their owner, but without muzzles, according to the initially collected data. On November 17, 2023, the Pomeranian dog was pronounced dead.

In the case, an investigation was carried out by the authorities of the police in the city of Plovdiv, which was completed within two days, after which pre-trial proceedings were immediately initiated in the District Prosecutor’s Office – Plovdiv.

The supervising prosecutor has given instructions to interrogate witnesses, including eyewitnesses, to attach medical documentation, to appoint expertise, etc.

The initial investigation period is two months.
