The Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABTTA) is organizing from November 22 to 24 in Plovdiv the ninth meeting between the tourism business and the local government, the Association announced. The meeting will be attended by representatives of municipalities, academia, state institutions, and tour operators. The forum will start at 14:00 at the Landmark Creek Hotel in the city.
The first day of the discussion is dedicated to the topic “Investments in a sustainable future”, and the possibilities of achieving a better quality and recognizable tourist product through investments in education and skills, in innovations and the development of a sustainable cultural-tourism infrastructure will be discussed, as well as by accelerating the green transformation. The focus of the talks will be the topic of the roles and responsibilities of the state, local government, business and science for building a high-quality and competitive national tourism product.

The participants of the three-day meeting will discuss modern and sustainable tourism development. Good practices and challenges facing Bulgarian tourism, the role of cultural heritage as a tourist resource and its contribution to the local economy will be presented. Other highlights of the forum are the opportunities to develop a sustainable tourist destination and a product based on local cuisine and wines, as well as the interaction between local tourism management structures and business.
There will also be presentations of the tourist potential of Pomorie, Lovech, Sandanski, Chirpan, Sapareva Banya, Bansko, the Stara Planina Tourist Region Management Organization. B2B meetings for individual negotiation between tour operators, representatives of municipalities and local businesses are also planned.
