“The more they hate and distrust each other, they will check and balance each other, which can lead to unexpectedly good results.” This is what Rosen Plevneliev, president from 2012-2017, said about the relationship between GERB and “We continue the change” in the program “Face to Face” on bTV.
He gave an example of the fight against corruption – if one of the two formations allows itself to “play with something”, the others will sink it. And he reminded that both Boyko Borisov and Kiril Petkov can overthrow the government tomorrow.
According to him, in the field of defense, for which the opposition requested a vote of no confidence in the cabinet, our country is currently very successful. “Finally, there is a large-scale national program for the modernization of the Bulgarian Armed Forces. And with the latest technologies, so that we can integrate with our partners. This is the only way to guarantee our security,” explained Plevneliev.
According to him, the reason why the opposition parties – BSP, “Vazrazhdane” and “There is such a people” are not satisfied with what is happening in this sphere is that they are Russophile.
On the other topic on which a vote of no confidence was requested – energy, he also sees a positive development.
“If Lukoil goes from all-Russian hands of oligarchs who are connected to Putin and finance his war, to international companies from democratic countries. This will be a wonderful result,” said the president in the period 2012-2017.
Plevneliev’s prediction is that within half a year there will be a change in the ownership of Lukoil. “This will be positive for Bulgaria, because this is perhaps the most strategic asset, because of which schools can be closed, the movement of cars and the work of enterprises can be stopped,” he specified.
