“Hristo Botev” Stadium in Plovdiv will most likely host the Bulgarian Super Cup match between Ludogorets and CSKA 1948 in February, writes “Mach Telegraf”. An option for the match to be held in Turkey has also been discussed, as both teams will be in camp in our south-eastern neighbor at that time.
Due to the condensed program of the champions, no other date can be found in the calendar on which to hold a match for the third most important trophy in domestic football. However, this match is official and it is very difficult to organize it abroad, which is why it will most likely be held here in February. An option is the “Hristo Botev” stadium in Plovdiv, which will then be completely ready.
It is a common practice in the major European championships that the matches for the Super Cup are played outside the countries, for example in Saudi Arabia or China. In our case, however, we were simply looking for an optimal option to hold the match outside the official dates, so as not to burden the calendar even more. If Ludogorets manages to skip the groups of the Conference League, this match will become even more difficult to schedule.
Curiously, both teams also have one postponed league match. It will also 99% be played in the spring.
