A brutal case of violence against a 19-year-old schoolgirl in Sliven. For almost a year, the girl was raped with threats and weapons by a 55-year-old man, who was arrested by the police on charges of rape and fornication. The first-person narrative reveals gruesome details, so we’ll keep the girl’s identity a secret.
When the girl’s nightmare began, she was 18 years old. The man is from his grandparents’ village.
“Our first meeting was at the Third Polyclinic next to the hospital. My friend introduced us to him. The next day at recess he was in front of the school. We went to their place to get some things and that’s where all the stress started. He took out his gun, said that he had killed a policeman, that he was on death row and that he didn’t care about anything at all, and he asked us to have sex,” said the victim girl.
“With each subsequent meeting, he blackmailed me with videos and nude photos – that he would upload and distribute them at my school, to my mother’s work and that he would kill my brother. That’s why I didn’t go to the police. I was also worried that if he didn’t go to jail for years, it would be dangerous for us,” it added.
The girl withdraws into herself, does not talk to friends. The man arrives at the girl’s home when her mother is gone. He tells her that you can get out of prison, but not out of the cemetery. However, the mother registered the changes in her daughter’s behavior and installed cameras in their home to see what was happening.
The girl’s brother is shocked. He contacted bTV to publicize what happened. There are other cases of girls falling victim to the man.
The boy says he fears for his sister and his family.
The man is also holding a 23-year-old woman captive. He does not let her go to the toilet, she is forced to do it in the room. The two meet at a store, he invites her for a drink, and then threatens her with a knife. He has kept her locked in his home for nearly a month. He threatens to kill her.
The man is charged with rape and fornication. He could face two to eight years in prison.
