The young handball players of the club “Hera – Varna” performed excellently at another tournament for 14-year-old girls. The competition from the state championship in the “Black Sea” zone took place over the weekend in Ruse. The graduates of coaches Dimka Prediova and Gergana Eftimova recorded two decisive victories – against “Shoumen” with 20:4 and against “V. Levski” (Novi Pazar) with 20:11. The top scorers in both matches were Danaya Mincheva with 16 goals in both matches and Helin Nejatieva with 14.
The goalkeeper Victoria Ivanova, who last year played for the 12-year-olds, returned to “Hera – Varna”. She was out of the country for a while, and now holds a starting place in her age group and in goal for the 14-year-olds.
For the two victories of “Hera – Varna” also played: Raya Kojuharova, Antonia Dimitrova, Daniela Ivanova, Danaya Mincheva (16), Helin Nejatieva (14), Emma Dimova, Kamelia Todorova, Gergana Hristova (2), Maya Krasteva (2). , Sula Veleva (1), Adelina Yaneva (4), Victoria Stoycheva (1) and Sabrina Savcheva.
“The girls in both games were confident and calm, obviously this season they are gaining not only experience but also self-confidence. We are happy about the return of Viktoria Ivanova, who had a very strong season last year,” commented Nikolinka Yankova, president of the club.
“We’re going up. The unfortunate thing is that one of our sponsors has dropped out and we are currently in need of new support. Our girls are talented, the club is working seriously, I hope that the Varna business will respond to help for a good cause – the development of children’s and youth sports,” adds Yankova.
The Varna talents will spend the winter in third place in the zone, and in the spring they will attack the finals of the state championship.
