The team of quiz show Get Rich have apologized after an inaccurate question was asked in the episode of the show, which aired on bTV on Monday.
The question of BGN 2,000 is formulated as follows: “What is the tallest skyscraper in the US?”, and the possible answers are:
- A) Woolworth Building
- B) Empire State Building
- C) Chrysler Building
- d) Sears Tower
However, it turns out that none of the answers are correct because to date the World Trade Center in New York (One World Trade Center) is the tallest building in the USA. It is exactly 541 m high.
In the “Get Rich” episode, the correct answer is D) Sears Tower, which used to be the tallest skyscraper, but until 2014 The show also uses the building’s old name, which was changed back in 2009. Since then, it has been called Willis Tower.
“The rules of the format, which we strictly follow, advise that the answer closest to the correct answer be accepted as correct. In this case, it is also the one indicated by the production D) Sears Tower (442 m.),” says a position of the show.
The contestant in the episode – Hristo Videv never manages to give a correct answer even after using the “help from a friend” wildcard. He marked answer B) Empire State Building, which turned out to be wrong.
“Get Rich” states that in this particular case this “cannot in any way be taken as a correct answer and did not affect the course of the game” of the participant.
“For us, the trust of the participants and fans of the game is of primary importance and we apologize for the inaccuracy, as we have taken and will continue to take measures to avoid similar situations in the future,” the show added.
Videv left with the sum of BGN 500 after the question of the tallest skyscraper cost him the first certain sum of BGN 2,000.
