Two men stole 240 liters diesel fuel from heavy-duty trucks stopped at a turnoff near Montana, the police said.

From there, they specify that the fuel was withdrawn from the tanks of two “Schmitz” semi-trailers, attached to tractors, owned by companies managed by two drivers, citizens of Greece and Croatia.

The theft took place on November 20 between 7:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on road E-79 in the territory of the village of Vinishte, in the area of the Dry Fountain area.

They drained a ton and a half of diesel from trucks and excavators in Pernik

The perpetrators were revealed by employees of the “Ogosta” Department, who, after receiving operational information, identified the two perpetrators at the time of draining the fuel. They disobeyed police orders and fled into rough terrain by the side of the road, leaving 2 canisters filled with about 70 liters of fuel and a rubber hose tucked into the tank of the semi-trailer next to one of the semi-trailers.

In the course of police action at approx 100 meters from the roadside turnoff, in the direction of Vidin, a car with Vidin registration was found, with the tank cap removed and 2 empty tubes of the same type in the luggage compartment. About 30 meters in front of the car, a 30-liter canister full of diesel fuel was found on a dirt road.

The detainees are residents of the Vidin region, aged 25 and 16.

The two were swabbed from the palms and detained for up to 24 hours.
