Two people were seriously injured in road accidents during the past 24 hours, reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs-Pazardzhik.
The first signal was received yesterday around 17:00. in RU-Velingrad. At an intersection in the resort, a 77-year-old Velingrad resident driving an Opel car did not stop for a stop sign. Thus, the car entered the intersection and hit a 67-year-old cyclist from Velingrad. The man was transported for an examination to the Velingrad General Hospital, where it was established that he had a craniocerebral injury. The driver of the car was tested for the use of alcohol and narcotics, and the samples were negative.
The second accident was registered around 11:30 p.m. on the Pazardzhik-Panagyurishte road in the section between the village of Sbor and Panagyurishte. A driver of a “Kumko” motorcycle lost control over the vehicle and fell at one of the turns. As a result, he suffered a craniocerebral injury and was admitted to MBAL-Pazardzhik with a life-threatening condition. Initially, the police officers who arrived at the scene were unable to establish the victim’s identity. Later, as a result of the actions taken, it turned out that the motorcyclist was a 28-year-old man from the village of Popintsi in Panagyura.
Police proceedings are ongoing in both cases.
