Bulgaria will for the first time present today the opportunities for year-round health tourism in Austria with a focus on medical/SPA and wellness. The event is held with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and with the assistance of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Austria. The Minister of Tourism Zaritsa Dinkova and the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Austria Desislava Naydenova-Gospodinova will attend the forum.
After the German Association of Health Insurance Funds was the first to include Bulgaria in the list of countries in which it recognizes and reimburses rehabilitation costs, Pazar Austria is the second project of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism.
The Union has a reason to start a process of rebranding the image of Bulgaria as a year-round quality tourism with an emphasis on health tourism, said Siika Katsarova – chairperson of the organization.
Meetings have already been held between the institutions from Bulgaria and Austria, and there is institutional support and readiness for such a project, both from the Bulgarian and Austrian sides, said Meglena Plugchieva. She was elected ambassador of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism. Plugchieva was ambassador of Bulgaria in Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Montenegro. She presented to the members of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism what has been done so far.
According to her, the task on the Austrian market will be more complicated. And he also emphasized that the advertising of Bulgaria abroad is insufficient.
The initiative meets the support and expectations of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association, emphasized its chairman Georgi Shterev.
Investors of the largest Bulgarian medical/SPA and SPA sites will participate in the presentation of Bulgaria in Vienna and will extend a personal invitation to tourists from Austria.
