More individuals and families in the Montana region received targeted heating assistance this season compared to last. Most often, the request is for heating with solid fuel.
For the current heating season, 13,729 applications-declarations have been accepted. 11,533 individuals and families are entitled to heating aid. Last season, 1,000 fewer people received such assistance.
For the current heating season, nearly 1,280 applicants have been refused, said the director of the Regional Directorate “Social Assistance – Montana Valeri Dimitrov:
“Due to exceeding the average monthly income, which is above the specified differentiated income for heating, lack of registration in the Directorate of the Labor Bureau, due to the fact that they have concluded deals, a second property, or participate in the capital of commercial companies, or carry out activities as sole traders.
The largest number of applications for heating were submitted to the directorates for social assistance in Montana and Lom. The aid for heating is in the amount of BGN 546.95. “Most often it is written “for heating with solid fuel – money”, noted Valery Dimitrov.
Kalin Todorov from Montana received heating aid for electricity: “Our electricity, which is less than BGN 160 per month, does not go down,” he shared.
