We celebrate the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
On November 21, on the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Road Traffic Accidents, the young Red Crossers from Lovech placed a black ribbon on the road. The action was at the place where 13-year-old Mariyan Mirchev died in a road transport accident near the village of Alexandrovo just ten days ago.
Alexi Kesyakov: The victims on the roads are equal to 5 fallen planes a year
Classmates took part in the action, the director of the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” – Aleksandrovo village – Greta Yachovska and partners from the “Road Police” sector. They lit candles in Marian’s memory and with that said to everyone again “Let’s stop the war on the road”! The action continued in the city of Lovech with the distribution of informational materials to motor vehicle drivers.
Since the beginning of 2023, the war on the roads in Bulgaria has led to 3222 serious road accidents. 248 people died and 4306 were injured. The initiative to commemorate the victims of road traffic accidents dates back to 1995.
