The municipality of Yambol organizes a choir meeting – a concert on November 25, Saturday, from 5:00 p.m. in the Bezisten hall, with free entry for fans of the art of music. The musical evening will feature Church-Slavic chants, classical choral works, arrangements of favorite titles from Bulgarian song folklore, as well as interpretations of popular contemporary music. The mixed choir “Black Sea Sounds” from Balchik, the Choir “Children’s Wrist” from Plovdiv and the hosts from the Women’s Choir “Prof. George Dimitrov”.

Next year, “Black Sea Sounds” from the city of Balchik will celebrate the 110th anniversary of the creation of the choir. They have numerous appearances on Bulgarian and foreign stages, prestigious awards from international choir competitions and festivals. The performers in “Black Sea Sounds” are people from different professions, united by the love of music and a sense of community. The conductor is Valentina Georgieva, doctor of musicology, art director of the International Music Festival in the seaside city.

The girls from “Children’s Wrist” – Plovdiv arrive with the authority of one of the oldest (1947) children’s choir formations in our country that have gained international prestige. In the recent history of the ensemble, participations in music forums in Stockholm, Poznan, Celje and Vienna stand out, where in 2018, under the baton of Yana Deliradeva, they won a gold medal at the World Peace Festival. 120 girls from 35 Plovdiv schools, aged 7 to 19, sing in the “Detska kitka” choir school.

Choir School “Prof. G. Dimitrov”, established in Yambol, has been spreading choral music and the love for it in the city, the country and abroad for 55 years through its children’s and women’s formations. It has won awards from competitions and festivals in our country and abroad – Maasmechelen, Montreux, Loreto, Graz, Larisa, Ankara and a number of others. A few days ago, the ensemble returned from a successful participation in the International Choir Festival in Sicily. In the upcoming concert in Bezistena, the Choir School “Prof. Georgi Dimitrov” with artistic director Vesela Pastermadzhieva performs with the United Women’s Choir with singers from two formations at the school.

The choir meeting – concert in Bezistena is among the events that Yambol Municipality organizes for another year in the week when the Day of the Christian Family is celebrated on November 21.
