For the first time, the budget of the NHIF exceeds BGN 8 billion. The amount is more than BGN 1 billion above this year’s budget, and the largest amount has been allocated to hospital care.
Deputy Finance Minister Georgi Klisurski drew attention to the fact that next year there will be more money for prevention.
“Here we also encourage citizens to go for a preventive examination and download their electronic file with the help of their personal doctor, so that in the future they can actually receive notifications about various manipulations, be it in hospital or outpatient care,” he explained. .
Prevention is key to people’s health and they should be encouraged to visit their personal doctor and the necessary specialists he recommends, added Mihail Okoliyski from the World Health Organization.
“At the moment, according to the data we have, about 38% of people barely practice these examinations. That is, the majority of people do not do it,” commented Okoliyski.
