The Administrative Court in Sliven canceled a decision of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in the “Preferences” section for candidates for municipal councilors of two political forces. This is according to a court decision published on its website. This will probably lead to a change in the composition of the Municipal Council – Sliven.
As BTA reported, on November 7, the court ordered a recount of ballots in the Sliven municipality in the “Preferences” section following two complaints from candidates for municipal councilors from the “BSP for Bulgaria” coalition and from the PP “Direct Democracy”.
According to the decision of the Administrative Court – Sliven dated November 20, the file of the OIC – Sliven for the announcement of the actual result regarding the two applicants is returned and the Municipal Election Commission – Sliven is ordered to pay each of them the sum of BGN 1,750, representing expenses for legal defense and forensic expertise.
“The municipal election commission will meet tomorrow (November 22) and will decide whether to appeal within the statutory seven-day period,” Hristiyana Dencheva from the OIC told BTA.
From the decision of the Administrative Court in Sliven, published on its website, it is also clear that a recount of the ballots for the election of the mayor of the municipality of Tvarditsa is forthcoming. The meeting is scheduled for November 24.
