GERB MP Delyan Dobrev criticized Finance Minister Asen Vasilev for increasing the amount of foreign debt. Dobrev compared his level now, accumulated only in the last three years, with that during the entire 45 years of the BKP administration.
According to the calculations of the chairman of the energy commission, it also turns out that in the following 32 years since 1989, the foreign debt was also much smaller than the current one under the management of PP-DB.
“For 45 years from 1944 to 1989, the Bulgarian Communist Party accumulated $10 billion in debt. The exact number is $10,137,085,438.
In the 32 years from 1989 to 05.2021, all democratic governments during this period accumulated a total of another 6 billion dollars in debt. The exact number is $6,071,247,895.
In just 3 years from mid-2021 to the end of 2024, Asen Vassilev “fixed” us with a new 11 billion dollar debt. The exact number is $10,975,111,111. Who is number 1 now?”, the chairman of the energy commission wrote on his Facebook profile.
“I’m just saying… Lest someone say later: “Why didn’t anyone say?” PS And it’s getting stronger! According to the forecast of the MoF, it plans another 10 billion dollars of new debt, but already only for 2 years (2025 and 2026)”. Dobrev also warns.
Against the background of his criticism, just a day ago, GERB and DPS were satisfied with their meeting with Asen Vassilev on the budget, after which they already confirmed that they will support the cabinet during tomorrow’s vote of no confidence.
Boyko Borissov said that both sides made concessions, reached compromises and cut two to three billion from expenses. The leader of the PG of the DPS, Delyan Peevski, commented that there are no problems with the budget for next year. “We are moving forward, the finance minister has a lot of sense,” said Peevski.
