Visitors to the Nikola Marinov Art Gallery in Targovishte can now take advantage of an interactive information screen. The new acquisition was made possible thanks to a project implemented before the National Fund “Culture” under the “Program for the restoration and development of state, regional and municipal cultural institutions – 22”. The first grades of students have already looked at it and approved it, the director of the cultural institution Plamen Prodanov told a BTA reporter.
The device, which is a computer with a touch display, gives access to an extensive database of information, including a history of the gallery, a diary of current and past events (up to 2019 inclusive.) with information and photos, as well as its exhibitions. More than 220 artists are represented with their biographical data and creative achievements, as well as with at least five of their own works from the gallery’s collection.
The search for the authors is facilitated and occurs by first and last name, and for maximum convenience, biographical data can be listened to while one enjoys the photographs of the works. The device also offers a section with thoughts and aphorisms of Bulgarian and world-famous artists. In order for the kiosk to be as useful as possible for the gallery audience, the program product is bilingual and the information is presented in Bulgarian and English. The font is suitable for people suffering from dyslexia, and the user-oriented interface is easy to use, even for people without computer literacy, the cultural institution explains. As BTA reported, according to Prodanov, the project is aimed at young people from regions – schoolchildren and students. The team of the cultural institution presented the functionality of the device to representatives of schools in the city, to students from the Shumen University “Ep. Konstantin Preslavski” and the media.
