8 years in prison for a recidivist who tried to rob and rape a 71-year-old woman – Kardzhali

The District Court in Kardzhali handed down a guilty verdict of “imprisonment” for a term of eight years against 50-year-old man for robbery and attempted intercourse with a 71-year-old woman, the court reported.

We recall that the defendant was brought in as an accused and two charges were brought against him. On July 25 in the black-eyed Pchelarovo village took a mobile phone and other belongings from a 71-year-old woman, like her inflicted blows on the head and body.

The second charge was that he attempted to raped the woman by forcing her to do so by forcehitting her on the head and body.

According to the information of the prosecutor’s office then, the act remained unfinished according to causes independent of the actor. At today’s hearing in the case, conducted according to the order of summary trial, the accused is found guilty on both counts, and he was given a general sentence – the heavier of the two, namely eight years of imprisonment, with an initial strict regime of serving the sentence.

The remand measure taken in respect of the defendant was also confirmed. The judgment of the court not final and subject to appeal before the Court of Appeal – Plovdiv.
