Graduates of a center for children with disabilities in Burgas show their art in the “Magical World” exhibition


Graduates of the Day Center for Children with Disabilities “St. Nicholas the Wonderworker” will present an exhibition of their works on the theme “Magical World”. The opening is on November 22 in the lobby of the NHK Cultural House, according to the Municipality of Burgas, which manages the establishment. In the exhibition, visitors will see flowers, sea motifs, animals, fairy-tale characters such as the Little Prince, the Magic Fairy, the three nymphs, and the predominant images are houses, depicted in a wonderful way. This is the second solo exhibition organized by the center. The paintings in it were made under the guidance and with the help of the occupational therapist Daniela Ilieva during the social services activities “Day care” and “Support for the acquisition of work skills”. In them, you can see the three main techniques of applied art that are used in the occupational therapy office – with torn leaves, with seeds, as well as paintings from sea pebbles.
Day center for children with disabilities “St. Nikolay Chudotvorets” has been operating for 23 years and provides a complex of social services and activities to improve the quality of life of children and youth with specific needs and to achieve their social integration. The complex of social services in the Day Center is for children from the age of 4 to the completion of secondary education. The Day Center mainly accepts children with motor and sensory disorders such as cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, multiple disabilities, autism, etc., as well as children with intellectual deficits. At the moment, 25 children and young people are served there, adds the Municipality of Burgas.
