Unemployed artist Fuseni Siaka has won Ghana’s record sports betting profit. The resident of Barekese (a suburb of Kumasi) won 6 million Ghanaian sen (almost BGN 900,000) and the bookmaker sent a special plane to take him to Accra for the check presentation ceremony.
Siaka took the record profit after only a few bets in the online platform of the bookmaker, where he bet only 40 sen (5.99 BGN). According to information from the local media, the artist was unemployed for a long time and was supported by his mother.
Interestingly, Fuseni Siaka did not take his mother to the ceremony but arrived in Accra with his sister, brother and a friend. Apart from the check for the huge amount, he also received a brand new mobile phone and a free ticket to the match of his favorite team Hearts of Oak against Legon Cities.
“I was shocked when I saw the amount on the screen. I was so excited I couldn’t pronounce the number. I even called my brother to see the message because I thought I was dreaming. I got 6 million for 40 sen. Almost immediately I got a call from the bookmaker. They explained to me how the awarding ceremony would take place. I still have no plans on how I will use the money”, commented the artist to the website of the betting company.
