--

The Regional History Museum in Pleven invites children to participate in a workshop for making cheese curds and Christmas and New Year cards with traditional motifs. This was reported to BTA by Miglena Nikolaeva, head of the “Ethnography” department at the museum.
The workshop will take place from December 19 to 22 (Tuesday-Friday) from 09:30 to 16:30 in the exhibition “Traditional life and culture”.
Children who want to participate and make traditional cheeses themselves and learn more about Christmas customs in the Pleven region should bring a dogwood or mulberry stick, stringed popcorn and dried fruit, a needle, thread, scissors, glue, colored pencils and crayons. The museum will provide woolen multi-colored yarn and other auxiliary materials needed to make the cheesecloths and cards. All students can participate if they register in advance, Nikolaeva specified.
The museum in Pleven traditionally organizes workshops for children on the eve of various holidays. Interest in them increases every year, reports the cultural institute. Cheese making workshops have been held for more than ten years. Last year, more than 500 children took part.
