Complete blockade of Tutrakan Municipality

--

The third consecutive meeting of the Tutrakan Municipal Council for the election of the chairman is scheduled for November 30, after twice none of the nominees could gather the required number of votes, BNR reports.

The candidates at the first and second sessions of the Municipal Council were the same, with Dimo Denchev from GERB and Nehat Kantarov from DPS reaching the second round each time, without the required minimum of 9 votes.
If an election is not reached on November 30, meetings of the Municipal Council will be scheduled in a week – ten days, said the mayor of Tutrakan, Dr. Dimitar Stefanov.

“If within 3 months the Municipal Council is unable to vote and vote accordingly for a chairman, there will be new elections for municipal councilors in Tutrakan municipality. We cannot elect one because the chairman’s salary is good. I am not looking for someone to do the work here, here we are looking to get a good salary,” he commented.

In practice, this is how the work of the municipality is blocked, the mayor of Tutrakan also said and added that in this situation they will continue to work with one-twelfth of this year’s budget. The structure of the Municipality cannot be made, and they cannot apply for any projects.
