All the third-graders from Vasil Aprilov Primary School in Burgas eagerly filled the Ethnographic Museum, where the exhibition of old Christmas toys from the museum of the Austrian city of Wagrain is being prepared. April students presented traditional Bulgarian carol customs and performed Bulgarian songs to welcome the Austrian guests.
Such an outdoor exhibition of vintage Christmas toys is being held for the first time in the history of the museum in Wagrain. The city is famous for its two museums “Silent Night” and the House Museum “Wagerl”, which mainly tell about Christmas, the creation of the Christmas carol, as well as other famous Christmas stories. You will learn more about them in Gramofona News’ special interviews with the heads of the Cultural Union, which manages the two museums Maria Wallhofer and Karl Heinz Kreuzzaler.
The reason for this outdoor Christmas exhibition is Radostina Ivanova-Mishineva, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Austria in Burgas.
Along with the Austrian exhibition “How they celebrate Christmas in Austria”, a food and drink bazaar will be opened. If you want to try original Austrian Christmas sweets, aromatic drinks and savory delicacies, the opening is today, November 21 at 5.30 p.m.
