The employed persons in the Dobrich region by the end of September 2023 decreased by 3.1 thousand or by 7.8% compared to the end of June 2023, reaching 36.2 thousand according to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, reported by the department ” Statistical research – Dobrich”.

Towards the end of the second quarter of 2023, the number of employed persons in the public sector increased by 1.2% (to 11.0 thousand), and in the private sector decreased by 11.3% (to 25.2 thousand).

At the end of September 2023, the number of employed persons in the Dobrich region was 4.2%, or 1.6 thousand less, compared to the same period of the previous year, and the increase in the public sector was 1.7%. and in the private sector they decrease – by 6.6%.

The average gross monthly salary for the month of July 2023 is BGN 1,451, for August –

BGN 1,468 and for September – BGN 1,635. In the third quarter of 2023, the average monthly salary for the district is BGN 1,516, compared to BGN 2,000 for the country. In the public sector, the average monthly salary is BGN 1,817, and in the private sector – BGN 1,397.

In the third quarter of 2023, the average monthly salary for the Dobrich region increased by 11.6% compared to the same period of 2022.

The highest average monthly remuneration in the third quarter of 2023 was received by persons employed under employment and service legal relationships in the sectors: “Production and distribution of electric and thermal energy and gaseous fuels” – BGN 5,858; “Education” – 2 BGN 197. “State administration” – BGN 2,065; “Financial and insurance activities” – BGN 1,965; “Creation and distribution of information and creative products; telecommunications” – BGN 1,915.

The lowest paid were the persons employed in the economic activities: “Administrative and auxiliary activities” – BGN 1,049; “Transport, storage and mail” – BGN 1,120; “Delivery of waters; sewage services, waste management and recovery” – BGN 1,137; “Trade; repair of cars and motorcycles” – BGN 1,143; “Culture, sports and entertainment” – BGN 1,182.

Compared to the rest of the regions of the country, in the third quarter, the Dobrich region is in 18th place in terms of average salary. The highest average monthly salary is received by those employed in the regions of Sofia (the capital) – BGN 2,722, Sofia – BGN 1,864, Varna – BGN 1,861, and Stara Zagora – BGN 1,851.
