The district council of the DPS in Kardzhali nominated Delyan Peevski as the chairman of the party

The district council of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms in Kardzhali nominated Delyan Peevski for the chairman of the party. The nomination became clear after this evening’s meeting of the largest structure of the DPS in the country, reported the local website 24rodopi.com

This is the first official nomination of the current chairman of the DPS parliamentary group, after a few days ago the honorary chairman of the DPS Ahmed Dogan personally named him as the new generation that should stand at the head of the movement.

“Our other decision is related to the holding of the regional reporting-election conference, it will be held on February 3, 2024,” said the regional leader of the DPS in Kardzhali, Resmi Murad.

The national conference will be held on February 24, 2024, and the election of a new chairman came after the previous leader, Mustafa Karadayi, resigned on November 7.

On November 17, after the Central Council of the DPS, Peevski himself announced to journalists that he would run for the chairmanship of the party. “Anyone can run for chairman from among our members. There will be no pre-selection of personnel,” he added succinctly.
